July 9th: Sunday’s Football Accumulator – 6/1

With a stacked schedule from across the footballing globe, we are treated to a host of intriguing affairs this weekend. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday acca, we have found a trio of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Sunday July 9th:
BST 00:30 New York Red Bulls vs New England Revolution

Putting in another action-packed display last weekend as they snatched a 2-2 draw away at Eastern Conference leaders Cincinnati, New England are certainly enjoying a hugely impressive flurry. Along with clinching back-to-back 3-1 victories against Orlando and Inter Miami on either side of June’s international break, Bruce Arena’s men will be desperate to make another MLS statement in the early hours of Sunday. Unbeaten in each of their last seven straight domestic appearances a run that stems back to May 20th the Revs have certainly gained a reputation for their lively outcomes. Including consecutive 3-3 stalemates against Atlanta and Chicago when signing off May, neutrals could be treated to another frantic affair this weekend. Watching New York eventually slump to a disappointing 2-1 loss away at Columbus last time out, the Red Bulls have once again struggled to find much stability this season. Still tipped as an outside contender in the play-off chase, Sunday’s hosts have mustered just two wins from their last seven domestic contests across all companions. With that inconsistent spell underlined by a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Orlando on June 3rd, the MLS giants could face another stern challenge this weekend. With four of the last five meetings between Sunday’s opponents finishing with both teams finding the net, a similar outcome can be found at appealing odds.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 10/11

16:00 Mikkeli vs HIFK

Although Mikkeli might have been frustrated after slumping to a bottom-half finish last season, Sunday’s hosts have certainly come flying out of the traps this time around. Battling it out at the top of the Ykkonen table and tipped as a leading promotion contender in 2023, the Blues have only continued to shine on either side of June’s international break. Putting in another action-packed display last weekend as they breezed their way to a stunning 4-2 victory away at KPV, Juha Pasoja’s high-flying squad are unbeaten in each of their last eight domestic appearances across all competitions a run that stems back to May 17th. Likewise, marking their return from the fortnight interval with a 6-2 romp at home against KaPa, Mikkeli have certainly found a major clinical edge in the final third. Notching 10 goals in their back-to-back Ykkonen victories, Pasoja’s side should be smelling a golden chance this weekend. While HIFK might have been last seen playing out an action-packed 2-2 draw at home against SalPa, Sunday’s guests are in the midst of what has become an extended wobble. In fact, on a rut that is highlighted by a 4-0 drumming at the hands of Gnistan last month, the Helsinki-based outfit have failed to win any of their last six straight appearances. Hit with a 2-0 defeat when they welcomed Mikkeli to town back on April 21st, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Tip: Mikkeli win Over 1.5 goals @ 13/10

22:00 Sport Recife vs Mirassol

Putting in another rugged performance last weekend as they claimed a routine 2-0 victory at home against Ceara, Sport Recife have continued to impress many across Brazil since opening the 2023 campaign. Enjoying a real purple patch on either side of the international break, Enderson Moreira’s men are unbeaten in each of their last nine domestic appearances across all formats a run that stems back to May 24th. Making a major statement last month as they extended on their Copa do Brasil victory away at top-flight outfit Sao Paulo, Sunday’s hosts should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Leading the chase at the top of the Serie B standings, it is no secret that the Pernambuco-based outfit are rightfully seen as a standout promotion contender in 2023. Hoping to widen their buffer over the chasing pack this weekend, Sport Recife have also gained a reputation for their remarkable success on home soil. Including a stellar 3-0 win against Juventude on June 22nd, Moreira’s side have now won each of their last six straight showdowns at the Ilha do Retiro by an aggregate score of 15-2. However, although Mirassol might still have their sights set on breaking into the top-four, Sunday’s guests are seeking a much-needed boost. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 defeat at home against Ituano, the Yellows have collected just a single point from their previous three Serie B showdowns.

Tip: Sport Recife win @ 8/11
