West Brom keeper Scott Carson looks as though he is on his way to Turkey. Pictures of Carson undergoing a medical have appeared on the Bursaspor website and it therefore appears likely that he will make his move to the club soon.

Bursaspor, who play in front of 20,000 fanatical fans, finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season after winning it the season before. They were knocked out of the group stages of the Champions League and will be playing in next season s Europa League. Honduras coach Luis Fernando Suarez is expecting a show of affection from Ecuadorian fans when the sides meet on Friday.

Suarez is a former Ecuador coach and guided them to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, while opposite number Reinaldo Rueda previously occupied the Honduran hot seat.

FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke has urged Luis Suarez to seek treatment after he was banned for biting for a third time.

World governing body FIFA on Thursday announced that the Uruguay striker would be suspended for four months and must sit out nine international matches after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Tuesday s World Cup Group D clash.

Replays were scrapped in 2020-21 in an effort to ease pressure on clubs in a campaign that was condensed due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
